From one "Varg" to another....
Yesterday, January 2, the first day of the licensed wolf hunt began in Sweden. The government had decided that 27 wolves were allowed to be killed.
27 of ~210-250 wolves...
(Sweden together with Norway have one of the smallest populations of wolves in Europe)
27 wolves out of ~210-250 individuals! ...That's more than 10%....
The wolves in Sweden have been near extinction several times and during the latest 25 year, a lot of people and nature organisations have worked together to see a healthy and strong number of packs living in the forests of Sweden.
But yesterday the goal we so long have worked for was smashed into pieces.
Many fear that there are more wolves shot than allowed and that it was wrong of the government to allow 12.000 hunters to kill 27 individuals...
Which is more than 400 hunters per wolf!?!
That's why several Swedish nature organisations have decided to report this hunt to EU. As this hunt lacks any scientific reason, and is a violation of the European Unions legislations of the Habitats Directive..
I, as a true animalfriend... and dear admirer of everything wild, including the wolf... demand you all to spread the word about this.
Together we can do something about it.
The hunt must be stopped and never again used as a way for wolf-haters to get a chance to exterminate such a beautiful and already vulnerable animal as the wolf. People who possess such a strong hate against wolves, should not be allowed to breathe the air on this planet...Please join the force against the hunt!www.facebook.com/group.php?v=i…No!

Thank you and stay green!
